Langkawi Chronicles: Out & About, Steamboat & Grill Set Dinner at Adya Hotel Langkawi

On a whim, we decided to have Adya Hotel Langkawi's Steamboat & Grill Set Dinner.

This hotel, fairly recently opened about 1 year plus ago offers affordable and consistent quality food at their Coffee House.

Their service was quick, probably on account of the very slow night (or we were early) at 8.30pm.

Food arrived in succsession starting with the Soup & Grill plate. Followed by dish after dish of vegetables and meats and dipping sauces.

When we thought that was the set, came another 2 plates.

The meats: slices of beef, slivers of chicken, whole shrimp, rings of squid and squares of fish were all marinated perfectly, with the salt carefully added to not overpower anything.

There was also fish-fuchuk squares, crabsticks, coconut cream-filled fish balls, squid balls and the now steamboat ubiquituous fried fishballs.

We chose their spicy sweet Tom Yam as our cooking broth was a beautiful deep fragrant soup. Sweet with a tongue and belly warming chilli kick.

Moments later glorious aromas of cooking meats filled air around our table, eliciting curious peeks by other restaurant diners. Strangely enough, only we ordered this set ofr this evening, despite the waiter telling it is a hit at their restaurant.

So there I was happily stewing and grilling our foods when took a spoonful of the supplied fried rice. This dish had to be the star of the night!

Delightful eggy-fied rice was coated lovingly with bits of scrambled eggs, and just a lovely hint of light sauce and pepper. It was hard trying to savour it slowly when all I wanted to do was cram my maw as fast as I could.

In the end, we managed to polish off most of our items, and it was a nice fulfilling meal.

The bill came up to just shy of RM85 uncluding 2 drinks. Not a bad deal at all.
